Within Her Arms

This is a very special piece to me. Being within her arms reminds me of my mother’s unconditional love, her protection, and her kindness towards her children.

When I painted this piece, I found myself thinking about the feeling of being protected and loved by my mother. Although she is no longer here, that feeling remains with me. Perhaps that is why this painting feels particularly close to my heart.

Fourteen years ago, I made the decision to come to Australia. This decision must have caused her many sleepless nights and so many worries. Today, I wish I could show her this piece in person and tell her that I was selected to be part of The Living World of Animals virtual exhibition.

I didn’t let you down, Mum. I’m trying to make you proud.

I miss you dearly. ❤️
